Cesky Krumlov castle complex

Visit the main Český Krumlov attraction – magnificent Castle, which rises above the picturesque Renaissance architecture of the adjacent little town. Taking a walk through the historical centre will, thanks to its inimitable medieval character, leave you in no doubt as to why Český Krumlov is one of the attractions included on the UNESCO list.

St. Vitus church

Discover the second most impressive architectural landmark of the town – The Roman Catholic St. Vitus Church which was built on the promontory created by the river Vltava as well as the Česky Krumlov Castle. Its neo-Gothic octagonal tower became one of the dominant in the city.

Monastery Cesky Krumlov

Cesky Krumlov Monasteries = playfully through history. The unique complex attracts especially families and children to experience the monastic life and learn about culture, history and art of the period.

Synagogue Cesky Krumlov

Built in Nouveau-Romanesque style in 1909 by the local Jewish community, the Cesky Krumlov Synagogue features an eight-sided tower with Torah-shaped windows.

Egon Schiele Art centrum

The art centre hosts a permanent exhibition about the life and work of Egon Schiele (1890-1918), whose mother was born in Krumlov. You can see drawings, graphics, the artist's own furniture, personal letters, business cards, dozens of photographs, Schiele's family tree, documentation about his stays in Krumlov and the motifs on his works. Parallel to this there are seasonally changing exhibitions of 20th and 21st century art.

Museum Fotoatelier Seidel

All fans of photography can admire in the Josef and Frantisek Seidels' studio the outstanding exposition of unique period images, post-cards and glass-plate negatives, and the well-preserved, functioning cameras, enlargers and darkroom equipment.

 

Saint Jost church

The history of the Church standing near the main Krumlov artery Latrán reaches all the way back to the 14th century. In 1787, the Church was decommissioned and closed. Inside the site, currently used for housing and shopping purposes, you have the opportunity to visit the tower and view the roof frames.

Regional museum

A rich array of valuable exhibits on the history of Český Krumlov and its surroundings await you in the Regional Museum, located in the newly-reconstructed Baroque building of the former Jesuit High School.

Pilgrimage Site on the Mountain of the Cross

Take a walk to the pilgrimage place located on a top of a mountain where this eight-nave chapel of Our Lady Dolorous and the Holy Cross was built in 1710.

Wax museum

Through this museum visitors can step into history, breathe the atmosphere of an alchemist's kitchen and an old tavern, visit the courts of the Bohemian Kings and Emperors such as Charles IV, Franz Josef or Rudolf II and admire all the wax figurines.

Museum of Torture instruments

Visitors can enjoy a mystical atmosphere in an authentic environment of Museum of Torture installed in the cellars below the Cesky Krumlov town Hall. The museum offers a unique exposition of criminal punishment and instruments of torture including wax figures, sound and special audio-visual effects.

Moldavite museum

South Bohemian moldavites - the only precious stones in the world created by a meteorite impact. Stunning interactive exhibition fully in English, incl. movie.

 

Marionette Museum – Fairy-Tale House

A family collection of historical and contemporary puppets and marionettes from the workshops of South-Bohemian, Czech and international master woodcarvers and puppeteers. Exhibits present more than 400 puppets, mostly arranged in themed groups.

Egon Schiele Garden studio

Visit the garden house at the terraces in Southern Meander od Vltava, that in 1911 served as a residence and studio for the world famous painter Egon Schiele (1890-1918).

Museum of Historical Motorcycles

More than 20 motorbikes of various Czech and foreign brands are on display in a museum situated in the building of the former Krumlov Mill. Among other things, you can also admire items related to the history of motoring.

Little castle of Ptaci hradek

The unfinished monument commemorating the victory of the united army of Russia, Austria, and Prussia over Napoleon Bonaparte in the battle of Leipzig of 1813 is located near the chateau garden. The site is privately owned and you can only view its exterior.

3D Museum

The 3D Museum in Cesky Krumlov is an adventure for all age categories right in the very heart of the historic centre of the town.
